I’m hoping somebody here can recommend a dentist that will give a discount for a patient without dental insurance. If you know of a dental plan/insurance for a private person please let me know.

Is it better to just pay cash? I see coast dental has a $59 web special for a first time visit with full x-rays,consult.I was just wondering what the best thing to do,to get some sort of private dental plan or??? I know i’m going to need fillings and more done, that’s why i thought I would ask for advice here on what to do.

Thank you in advance for your help! David

Answer: skip the plans/insurance. it’ll cost you more than you’ll get back out of it. contact the nearest dental school.

Answer: You won’t get much for $59 except maybe a big come-on, let us treat your problems. And those costs will be much higher.

Talk to a few dental offices. Ask if they give cash discounts. Some do, some don’t. And cash means paying same day so they don’t have to bill you. Individual dental plans have serious exclusions during the first year. No root canals or anything more than a few fillings.

Answer: Go to a clinic, no dentist will give a discount to someone who is not already a patient. That’s just how it is these days. Try dental schools as well. Try to get any kind of dental insurance so when this happens again you will have some insurance to use.
