My doctor recently told me my son, who will be turning 3 in August, should start seeing a speech pathologist. The problem I am having is that most offices open at 8 or 9 and close around 5. I work 9 til 6 and am not able to take off work 1 to 3 times a week to take him. I was wondering if anyone knows of a speech pathologist that does therapy in the home and also accepts insurance.
Response:
Call your county’s Early Childhood Development office. Speech therapy for toddlers is frequently covered by county programs. These therapists come to the home usually once or twice weekly. Whether they will come “after hours” or not, I don’t know.
