Oily and shiny noes 24/7 – causes treatment
Oily shiny noes 24/7 Is there a medical condition that causes this? Within less than a half hour of washing my face, my nose feels like someone has smeared Vaseline on it.
Have had this problem for many years – I am always running into restrooms to wash my nose and apply a thin coat of tinted Clearasil to matte the shine. It is especially bad and troublesome in the summer

You’re washing it too much making oil to replace. The more you wash your face/nose, the more your body is programmed to pump out more oil.
The worst part is…to reverse the cycle, you need to quit washing so frequently (and switch your product) but your nose will continue to spew more oil till the cycle is reversed.
Do not use oil stripping products. Use something gentle. Cetaphil is a good choice. Stop with the Clearasil. Let your skin breathe.
There are oil blotting papers you can try. I think Neutrogena makes one. Also, I’ve heard that those paper toilet seat covers make excellent blotting papers. No joke…
Should I remove wisdom teeth before gum surgery?
Shall I remove wisdom teeth before gum surgery?
I have got a 2nd opinion, this periodontist suggested I get my wisdom teeth removed before gum surgery.
But my 1st periodontist did not suggest so.
My wisdom teeth are not infected or in pain. But the teeth next to them have 7-9mm deep pockets.
After deep cleaning, pocket depths have been reduced to some extent.
Please advice which is better. Thanks a lot!

This is a call for the periodontist that is going to treat you. But I feel that if the wisdom teeth are not impacted there is not much bone on the back side of those second molars, and knowing nothing else you’d probably be best off without the wisdom teeth–maybe with a bone graft.
If the wisdom teeth are impacted, it’s the call of the surgeon that has to do the extractions. If they are in a bad position you may not be able to take out the wisdom teeth without danger.
The oral surgeon and periodontist should be communicating about this.
