Injured in a car accident and it is THEIR fault? Good Advice
Injured in a car accident and it is THEIR fault?
Here is my advice
A. Demand a police report!!
B. Get THEIR insurance, vehicle and personal info
C. Demand an ambulance!!
D. Request to be taken to a PRIVATE hospital
E. Never and I mean NOT ever tell the people at the hospital or at the scene the following:
- You are a veteran
- You have health insurance
- You are on Medicare/Medi-Cal
- You get healthcare through VA or any govt. benefit
- You get healthcare through your employer
- You are prescribed any controlled substance as Vicodin
Just LIE as necessary about 1-6 above
The reason?
You are the INNOCENT injured party, put the economic burden all on THEM, put as much money as possible in YOUR pocket, not hospitals’, not government agencies’, not insurance companies’, but YOURS!!
The insurance company may offer to pay YOU directly for the hospital bill…I would KEEP the money and not pay!!
If you tell the hospital you get treatment at the VA, the hospital will try to collect from the VA and the VA will likely pay and put a LIEN on your insurance claim and you won’t get any of that hospital money in YOUR pocket!!

@Adam, so let me get this straight, You want to claim that an accident is their fault but you insist on lying about everything else. Why should anyone beleive a word you are telling. Not to mention that providing false info. is illegal. If it is truly not your fault you have other avenues to collect damages including the courts. People, I beg you not to listen to this persons advise, it will only get you into more trouble than you really want. If you need to go to court or are taken to court, a judge or jury will have a hard time siding with someone who has lied from the beginning. Tell the Truth and be as honest as possible. My feeling is that he lost this amount of money because of the lies. Who knows, he’s probably lying about the money and the amount now. Can you really trust someone who tells you to lie, lie, lie?
