Is surgery a must for 7-8mm deep pockets? I’m afraid

Is surgery a must for 7-8mm deep pockets? Since deep clean can go as deep as 6mm. I’m so afraid. Thank you!

Have dentist put arestin in the gum. I’ve had up to 12 mm pockets. pocket depth can change. I now have 3,4,5,6mm. the bacteria periodontal pathogens balance in your mouth affect the gum/bone tissue & pocket depth. its a disease of germs and other factors.

Arestin costs $40 each in bev hills that’s what I’ve paid. how many spots in your mouth are over 6mm . count em up each one is $40. i usually have em put in 10 areas x $40 = $400.

Go to a periodontist for consult or call around find a general dentist who took the course and does it. I’ve had both do it.

You can also pay for a periodontal pathogen bacteria culture study they send to lab at USC dental school. this costs $250 to $450 depending where you go and if you have the extra DNA probes too. after test results back showing the cluster you have they write prescription for appropriate antibiotics . this helps pocket numbers go down as well. they have not figured out how to re attach gum tissue after pockets form.

Try some liquid vitamin d drops swish in your mouth. try some co q 10 your gum’s tissue will turn pinker and bleeding will lessen or stop. senior citizens on fixed income who cant afford expensive periodontal treatments use edgar casey ipsab and rub on gums. its sold at health food stores made by edgar casey devotee company they have all his readings and make his formulations from his readings.

Periodontist first thing going to deep clean “root planing” by quadrant first thing they do. that will set you back $1500 & up. I’ve had regular dentist do it for $135 a quadrant. I’ve had deep cleaning many times. I’ve heard you need a dentist with under the gum camera to make sure the debree field is clear after the deep cleaning or the gum won’t stick to the teeth as well. the cutting the gum tissue down i wouldn’t let them do it. i have no idea what that mastectomy type idea costs. i was disappointed in periodontist limited things they can do to help. they only put gortex fake bone back in limited pocket cases.
