Can GAS cause chest pain? if yes, then since one of Protonix side-effect is GAS, so in other words… can chest pain be in-direct side effect of Protonix?

No heartburn. no Acid Reflux symptoms at all, but I have had chest pain in different locations around chest (sometimes below left armpit as well) for over 2 months now. My GI did endoscpoy and tdiagnosed with SHORT SEGMENT Barretts. But I have NEVER had Acid Reflux symptoms. I think Protonix is making me feel like yukk all the time. So, i really wonder if Protonix is really helping me in any way.

By the way, my first Chest Pain incident was quite intense spreading to arm, shoulder, blades etc. But it went away and after 3 weeks of that incident i started Protonix. Have seen CARDIO and he has verified heart is ok.

I am still lost and clueless… I hope soon i will run into a smart doctor who can explain whats all this.

You don’t HAVE to have the typical symptoms to have reflux. Many, many people don’t have symptoms but have it! See about switching meds if yours are causing you problems. I don’t have problems or side effects from my med.

Gas can cause chest pain & breathing trouble. For relief if your willing to try a product called reflux-away by natural care . you can get at any health food store. its about $13 for 60 capsules. its cheaper than prilosec.

To try and eliminate the problem not just symptomatic relief, I use myself brag liquid apple cider vinegar. I increased my salt intake too. both the vinegar and salt help increase the digestion of your food. also a digestive enzyme couldnt hurt. but gas is cause by undigestion of food and a by product of the yeast in your guts fermenting your food. take caprylic acid made from coconuts and olive leaf herb they both kill yeast candida overgrowth. also get a strong probiotic such as natren healthy trinity or any high quality probiotic at any health foods to re implant your gut with good bacteria to digest your food properly, manufacture vitamin b12,and drive out the yeast from your guts till you have the normal 85% good bacteria & 15% bad bacteria like supposed to have. after taking medications especially antibiotics we all lose our good bacteria. the antibiotics kill both bad and good bacteria non selective.
