Ambien and Hallucinations – Side effects
Starting to like Ambien. It is a sleepy drug but there are some hallucinations. Like right now I can see the letters on this website moving around. Sometimes the spaces are breathing.
And that’s just a half dose. On a full dose the words come out of the page at you.
Answer
Your dose is to high. Ambien usually doesn’t make one hallucinate at the proper dose. You maybe over medicated. Self induced? Maybe, cause you are impressed with the feeling.
Answer
Caution about Ambien + hallucinations. Although there are reports that people have had hallucinations on Ambien, there is potentially something more serious going on.
Big question is what was causing you to Need the Ambien. Often people who have Bipolar disorder have the first symptoms of an episode as insomnia, this is part of the manic phase. Hallucinations are also sometimes symptoms of active Bipolar.
Google “DSM criteria Bipolar” and read the criteria for diagnosing Bipolar- this will give you some clues.
You may or may not have Bipolar as a diagnosis but you need to get this checked out as soon as possible to determine is this is *just* a side effect or something more serious.
